Guest Writer: Briegette

Briegette is one of our team members who will be traveling to Kingdom Bound with us for the first time. She has been involved with XM Productions for about a year. She is about to start her freshman year of high school and we're so excited she's joining us! This blog she wrote is about her first performance with us outside of Xtreme, at Sparks youth camp this year! We performed one of our new dramas about the luggage we carry with us in life.

"When I found out that we were going to perform this drama at camp, I got excited. I had never performed in front of this large of a crowd, but I went with it. The Luggage Drama was more than just a production involving a plot and some baggage. For me, it was my own personal story. My story of struggling to carry the weight of all my baggage, my expectations, and reality. I practiced this drama so many times that I was pushed back the emotions it brought. The day we performed in front of the crowd at camp, I was an excited/nervous wreck. Once I was backstage, I became really nervous. Eventually, my adrenaline kicked in and I was full of energy. I waited anxiously for my cue and it finally came. Out we went and the drama started. I went through the steps and prayed I wouldn’t forget a scene, or worse, freeze up. It came to the part in the production where it’s just me, the stage, and the luggage. The music came to a low and I found myself relating to the lyrics. The lyrics were talking about not being good enough, but God saying that you are worthy and perfect in His eyes. That was my struggle. Feeling like I wasn’t good enough for someone or something. The emotions from my personal story kept being relived in my mind and I found myself internally crying out to God to take away all my baggage: my worry, anxiety, stress, and feeling of not being enough. I stood center stage, and dropped the luggage in my hands and finally my personal baggage. I dropped everything that had once held me back and let God take over. I walked off that stage, down the center aisle with my head held high knowing that God had set me free from all my baggage and that I was no longer defined by what that baggage had said about me."

BACK AT IT AGAIN

Hello there! It's been awhile.

We have had the craziest of years. I've mentioned how XM was rebuilding, but I have never meant it as sincerely as I do right now. This season started with losing a good majority of our traveling team. College, adult jobs, and other crazy things have pulled them away and while I miss them, I am SO excited about the future of this group! We have been blessed by an amazing group of students who have been showing us how great they are this past year. I absolutely can NOT wait to introduce you to some of our new team. There are a few familiar faces, but so many you haven't seen as a part of XM.

The group of students we have now are a little younger than our traveling teams of the past, which is super exciting. Younger means more uninterrupted years of them being on our team :) They have a strong desire to share the gospel with others and to use creative activities and stage performances to draw people into life change, a relationship with God, and sharing their story-which is what we're all about!

It's absolutely crazy to think of this journey we started on two years ago, our particular era of XM Productions. Every Story Counts was written, countless people have been ministered to, and we have grown as a group spiritually and creatively. We have been blessed with so many cool opportunities and it's so exciting to see where we were compared to where we are. Our student centered mentality has grown so much over the past year as all the performances we have done have been written by students in our group, and us leaders have let them take the reigns.

I ask that you continue to pray for us in this journey as we grow in this ministry we have been provided with! We can't wait to join the people of upstate New York for one of our favorite weeks of the year, Kingdom Bound, in about three weeks!

You guys are great. Share this post with your friends. Let them know we're back, and stay tuned for more. We have some great stories to share about the past year!

Also, don't forget to subscribe to our posts below!

You guys are the best.

Festival Days Part Two

Festival Days Part Two

Friday we were able to join Reggie on stage at the Worship tent and perform Storybook. All of the story and meaning behind that drama was brought to life with Reggie's speaking lining up so perfectly with it.
Friday afternoon, we were back by the Park Stage getting people involved with our interactive setup!
Then, Friday night we joined Reggie on the PAC stage to give an illustration to a message close to our hearts. It was amazing to see the response.
After picking up PAC trash friday night, we joined our friends from New York(ndslym) for a campfire where we joined them for worship and some food.

Saturday, we held another seminar and with Reggie's help we showed how we wrote, performed, and put together the Storybook. Saturday night, a couple of our team members joined Eric Samuel Timm on the stage to give an illustration that was a perfect follow up to our Friday night illustration. Later that night, we helped tear down the festival. Every year, this process gets shorter and shorter but we love serving Kingdom Bound in this way!

We headed home sunday and monday, got home around 5pm on monday, and were so happy to be back in Owasso!
Kingdom Bound was a great time for ministry and we loved every minute of it! We are so thankful for their ministry and for having us there every year!

Our next adventure!

Our next adventure!

Kingdom Bound has come and gone and with that adventure being over, the season is changing. Kingdom Bound 2015 was the last trip for a few of our students. We are so sad to lose them but so excited for what God has planned for them!

We've taken a little break to recover from Kingdom Bound, but will be coming back in full force this week! Tonight, we are starting auditions during our weekly practice where new students(and all students wanting to stay involved) will perform a 1 minute monologue in front of the whole group. We don't do this to see where their acting or memorization skills are, but in order to know that they can perform in front of a group. Knowing that they can do this means that they can easily talk to people when doing things interactively.

Tomorrow night is the August Owasso Gathering on Main! We always love getting to spend this time with our community and are looking forward to it!
Last but not least, on Saturday Owasso First Assembly(our home church) is having our third annual Day of Hope. This is a day filled with community outreach. There will be free school supplies, haircuts, immunizations, school physicals, and other things like that! XM will have our interactive setup there to do even more community outreach!

We are so excited about the opportunities we are constantly provided to share what we're doing with others and can't wait to do more of it!

Until next time,
Amanda :)

Festival Days

We've been super busy these last couple of days at Kingdom Bound and having so much fun doing what we do!

Wednesday we helped to set up the festival! It was hard work but we had so much fun working together!

Thursday we had our first seminar! We did Unbreakable and taught about all the different points of making it happen. We had a great turn out! After that, we went down to the Park Stage and did some fun interactive things from 3-6. We got to connect with lots of people and had tons of fun!

Stayed tuned for more of our adventures coming!

A little more tourism

Today we spent our last day away from the festival for the week at Niagara Falls! Half of our team stayed on the American side and the other half went to Canada. We all had a great time, but we're excited to help set up the festival in the morning! Here are some pictures from Niagara today!

Kingdom Bound bound!

Every year in our long trek up to New York, we try to do some touristy things to make the road trip more fun/memorable! We got to experience so many fun things such as square donuts in Indiana, Grandpa's Cheese Barn in Ohio, and Lake Erie. Here are some pictures from our adventure these past two days!

As fun as the way up here has been, we are super pumped to go to Kingdom Bound! God has some great things in store for our team, so be in prayer with us that we will connect with people in amazing ways and help others to learn how to do what we do. Love y'all!

It's Crunch Time!

Testing out the air mattresses :)

Testing out the air mattresses :)

In a little over 48 hours, we'll be leaving Owasso for Kingdom Bound! With that, we've been working hard to get everything ready to go. The cool thing is, this team is so fun! We may be constantly going to get things ready, but we have had our fair share of fun!  Plus, I recently invested in a selfie stick, so we've been using that just a little bit ;)

As we have been getting ready we've been building more fun stuff. For some of our interactive things, we decided we needed a display that was easy to travel with, came apart, and that could stand up on it's own. So, Francyne came up with this!

image.jpg

You can't see it all, but this has three sides and they each serve a different purpose! Come see us at Kingdom Bound to know what those purposes are ;)

Amy and Rachel

Amy and Rachel

We've also had a couple of our older girls learning the middle ballerina dance in Unbreakable. Elizabeth(our original middle ballerina), is unable to join us at Kingdom Bound. Amy and Rachel have been working hard to learn the dance and they look awesome!

And last but not least(for today), we are going to be starting a new series of blogs to help you get to know our cast! They will each include some pictures, questions they answered, and a little bit of information on their time in XM Productions. I will be posting them periodically in the next few days, so be ready! These will especially be great if you're going to come see us at Kingdom Bound!

Anyway, as always thanks for reading and follow us on social media for even more behind the scenes fun stuff!
